Village Connect Small Group MinistriesConversations with Jesus in the Gospel of John
Village Connect groups are small groups of adults who meet once a month in homes or at the church usually beginning in September and ending in April or May. The groups gather to share a meal or dessert, to build friendships, and to read a scripture passage and then view and discuss a 10-12 minute video. This year’s theme for the study is "Conversations with Jesus in the Gospel of John." John’s gospel is distinct because many of his stories about Jesus only appear here. From a discussion between Jesus and his mother that leads to his turning water to wine at a wedding to a late-night clandestine meeting with a church leader to an out-of-bounds conversation with a Samaritan woman, Jesus engages in conversations that change people’s lives. Rev. Tom Are is featured in each of the videos and Rev. Dr. Rodger Nishioka has written the small group leader’s guide for each of the eight sessions. All are welcome to participate in this study. Materials will be ready for groups to begin in early October. Meetings are held in members’ homes or at the church.
