VILLAGE MUSIC ENSEMBLES
Village's music ensembles are connecting, growing, and even serving the church and community during the pandemic. Most rehearsals are now held in person, but contact Will Breytspraak for details on a specific ensemble’s schedule.
ADULT choral ENSEMBLES
Village Choir sings for 8, 9:30 and 11 a.m. Sunday worship services (choir members choose which service they sing). Rehearsals are Thursdays, mid-August through May from 7-8:30 p.m. The choir is open to all without audition. In addition to Sunday services, the choir presents several concerts each season and a highly anticipated annual Christmas Concert, Tidings of Joy. Contact Will Breytspraak for more information.
Chamber Choir is an option for Village Choir members who want to sing more challenging music. The choir rehearses from 8:40-9:40 p.m. on Thursdays, following Village Choir rehearsal. In collaboration with other community ensembles, the Chamber Choir presents two or three sacred concerts each year. Recent projects have included Bach's Mass in B Minor, Haydn's Creation and Vaughan Williams' Dona Nobis Pacem, all performed at the Kauffman Center's Helzberg Hall. Click here for details of upcoming performances. Contact Will Breytspraak for more information.
This choir is made up of young adults. The group rehearses from 6:30-7 p.m. on Thursday nights (and also has snacks before rehearsal!). Most members of Alegría join the Village Choir rehearsal at 7 p.m. and sing through the remainder of that rehearsal. Alegría participates in both Sanctuary and Gathering worship services, as well as in the Village Church Concert Series. Contact Elisa Bickers for more information.
More Love Chorale
This adult ensemble is a great entry or re-entry for those who are interested in singing, but not sure about the demands of singing every week. The choir sings at worship services one Sunday per month. The ensemble of 25 to 30 singers rehearses from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, September through May in Room 15. Contact Will Breytspraak for more information.
Summer Choir sings for the 9:30 a.m. worship service in June, July and the first half of August. Rehearsals are at 8:45 a.m. in the Village on Mission Chapel. The choir does not wear robes and usually sits among the congregation. Anyone who likes to sing - children through adults - is welcome. Contact Will Breytspraak for more information.

INSTRUMENTAL SOLOS & CHAMBER MUSIC
Are you an instrumentalist? Village welcomes instrumentalists who would like to share their gifts during Sunday morning worship services. Opportunities abound for solo and chamber music throughout the church year. Please contact Will Breytspraak if you would like to explore opportunities to play – alone, accompanied, in a small ensemble, or with the choirs!
Village Voices Youth Choir
Village Voices is a youth choir that helps lead worship every Sunday morning in the Sanctuary or Gathering services. This ensemble is made up of high school and middle school students. Village Voices rehearses from 5-6:30 p.m. on Sunday evenings, just prior to youth group. Other activities include two overnight lock-ins each year and a four-day choir tour at the beginning of each summer. Contact Josh Maize for more information.
Both middle and high school students have bands that perform at their respective youth group meetings (Sunday nights for high schoolers and Wednesday nights for middle schoolers). All types of instruments and singers are welcome. Interested in joining? Contact Kevin Dolan for more information.
Morning Stars children’s choirs
