I’m New

Welcome to Village Presbyterian Church! We’re so glad you are here. A new member recently said, “Village is a large community of faith with a small church feeling.” We hope you will feel at home here.

Our mission is to see and relate to every person as a child of God. We offer two different styles of worship (traditional and contemporary) and we are ready to welcome you. Please come join us!

What to Expect

You will encounter greeters at the main entrances of Village Church. You’ll know them by their nametags and friendly smiles. They will welcome and direct you to where you want to go. Be sure to check out our Discover Village kiosks in the Welcome Center and Friendship Hall where you can talk with a host to find out information and get connected.

Village Church is completely wheelchair accessible. For easiest access if you are dropping someone off for Sanctuary worship, pull up to the portico on the north side of the building. An elevator is located on the entry level that opens directly into the Sanctuary. For easiest access if you are dropping someone off for The Gathering service, pull up to the south entrance and the elevator will take you to 2nd Floor (Friendship Hall).

Worship Services

Worship is at the core of our Village Church community. Our pastoral team, led by Senior Pastor Rev. Tom Are, Jr., leads traditional worship services on Sunday mornings in the Sanctuary, and a contemporary service (The Gathering) on Sunday evenings in Friendship Hall. Come experience God through joyful singing, listening to the Word and powerful sermons.

Traditional services in our Mission Campus Sanctuary at 9 & 11 a.m. and a contemporary service called The Gathering in Friendship Hall at 5 p.m. Antioch Campus worships at 9:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary. Learn more about our Village worship services.

How to Join

We would love to welcome you to Village Presbyterian Church! If you are interested in joining, please contact Rev. Dr. Dionne Boyice at 913-671-2369 or by email.

Parking

Mission Campus has two main parking lots: north side (Sanctuary) and south side (Friendship Hall). Overflow parking is also available at Prairie School, directly across the street.

Adult Faith Formation

Village Church is a learning community with a longstanding commitment to providing opportunities for adults to grow in knowledge and faith together, while serving our local communities and the world. There are always many diverse and exciting activities throughout the year which seek to build relationships with other men and women at Village Church.

Young Adults

Young Adult Ministry is not something you do, it’s something you become part of. When things are hard, we check in, and occasionally show up with six-foot-tall teddy bears. When things are great, we buy cake and glow sticks and celebrate. Because life is both beautiful and broken, we're learning it's much easier to do together. We'd love to welcome you into this community. There is room for you here if you want to find it. We hope you do. Learn more about Young Adult Ministry at Village Church.

Children & Families

Children have always been a vital part of Village Church since its beginning. Every effort is made to include children in planning for our church family. It is our intention to help children grow in the knowledge of the goodness of God’s love, as expressed in the person of Jesus Christ until the time that they claim the faith as their own. We offer a child-loving and Christ-centered environment with excellence, nurture and delight. Child care is available for most programs and ministries with advance registration.

Sunday School (The Lighthouse): Most Sundays, kindergarten through 6th grade meet at 9 a.m. in the children’s wing for Sunday school (2nd Floor, northeast side of the building).

Children are always welcome in worship, but we do offer professional child care in the nursery wing (1st Floor in northeast corner of the building):
  1. Nursery for 6 weeks to age 1
  2. Toddlers (Sunday school curriculum)
  3. Age 3 (Sunday school curriculum)
  4. Age 4 (Sunday school curriculum)

Youth Ministries

Ministry with young people at Village is a place where all students are encouraged to be themselves, to love others, to ask questions, and to be appreciated for who they are and where they are in faith and in life. In short, we want to make this a place that feels comfortable and safe as well a place where students feel both challenged and loved. Sundays: Youth, grades 7-12, meet at 9 a.m. on Sunday mornings in the Youth Loft (3rd Floor, south end of the building). Learn more about Village Church Youth Ministries.
