Why Can't We Get Past This?
Racism in American Culture and The Church
May 19-June 2
From the first days of the American experiment racism has been woven into the fabric of our nation. Over the years, so much has changed. Yet, racism remains a burden in our culture. We tend to think of racism in very personal terms, like language or insults or belittling attitudes that result from bias. It is that. But racism is dangerous when such bias is empowered by the structures of society. Some have called racism “America’s original sin.” Rev. Tom Are and Rev. Dr. Rodger Nishioka will share a sermon series to lift up what they see about this important social and spiritual struggle.
