Human Rights Pilgrimage to Alabama Info Session

Chad Herring from Oct. 9-13, 2024 sponsored by the Building Beloved Community Committee. We'll be heading to Montgomery, Selma and Birmingham, Alabama to better understand the deep history of racism in our country and explore ways to dismantle it. Space is limited. |
Sacred Banquet with Te Deum Choir
7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 1 Mission Campus Sanctuary Te Deum Choir presents “Sacred Banquet." The program that explores the sacred texts of the Feast of Corpus Christi. Composers include Arvo Pärt, Olivier Messiaen, Roderick Williams, Vytautas Miškini, Palestrina and the repertory of 10th and 11th-century Gregorian chant. Tickets are available at te-deum.org |

Babies and toddlers combine in the nursery (Room 114). Feel free to wear summer play clothes because we might get dirty and messy with paints, etc. |
Faith & Grief Support Gathering Luncheon
noon-1 p.m. Tuesday, June 4 Friendship Hall-Mission Campus Guest speaker Sarah Thomas will talk about how pulling together photos for her mother’s memorial service helped lift her out of a dark place, remaindering her of her love for live and light. Facilitated table conversations provide a safe place to listen, remember and pray together. All are welcome. There is no cost to attend. A complimentary box lunch is provided for those who pre-register. |
Remembering Vietnam with Lou Eisenbrandt
6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 4 Friendship Hall-Mission Campus Lou Eisenbrandt, First Lieutenant and registered nurse, will share her experiences as a nurse in Vietnam and share her unique insights regarding the best-seller, "The Women," by Kristin Hannah. Wear Orange Rally
9 a.m. Saturday, June 8 Harmon Park, 77th Place and Delmar in Prairie Village June 7-9 is National Gun Violence Awareness and Wear Orange Weekend. Village for Gun Sense and other gun violence prevention organizations unite for this city and this cause for the Johnson County Wear Orange Rally on Saturday, June 8. Make a sign, wear orange, light your front porch with orange bulbs, or just be present to support that senseless tragedies of gun violence must end. Prairie Village Police Chief Byron Roberson will speak at 9 a.m. We will hear from other speakers and then walk through the Shops of Prairie Village. |
Intergenerational Family VBS
6-7:30 p.m. Wednesdays, June 12, 19 and 26 Various Locations in Prairie Village and Overland Park We will provide tangible, immersive family experiences with three local non-profits—one each Wednesday. We'll explore what it means to love God’s people and how we might widen our wingspan in our efforts. June 12 will be at the Mission Campus, June 19 is at Meadowbrook Park and June 26 is at the Antioch Campus. It’s going to be a blast and incredibly meaningful. Village Pilgrimage along the Camino de Santiago in northern Spain
Aug. 30-Sept. 13 Join Rev. Melanie Hardison to explore walking as a spiritual practice, as we walk 69 miles of this ancient pilgrimage route over nine days. Information sessions will be held Sunday, May 19, at the Village Forum class (9:30 a.m. in Room 126-Mission Campus) and Sunday, June 2 (10 a.m. in Room 230-Mission Campus).
