Mission Sewing is a dedicated team of seamstresses and sewists—working both inside our building and at home—to create items for unhoused individuals, children in foster care, patients undergoing cancer treatment, among others. Some of their projects include ‘fiddle’ and walker aprons, peanut pillows, baby blankets and dream bags.
The group meets each Tuesday (9 a.m.-noon) and Thursday (10 a.m.-noon) at our Mission Campus in the Sewing Room (Room 115). All you have to do to volunteer is drop by the Sewing Room during one of those times. We welcome both experienced sewers and non-sewers for cutting, pressing, and other non-sewing tasks.
