Do you or a loved one worship online with Village Church?
Whether you live far away or just down the road, if you worship with us online you are a part of Village’s extended family, and we are planning a special weekend this summer just for you! This weekend will be a time for our extended family to meet us, meet each other, and dream about how the online space can be a place of worship, engagement, fellowship and mission.
Dear Village Family,
If we haven’t had a chance to meet yet, I’m Alice Whitson, the associate pastor for media ministry. I have the privilege of serving as pastor to the online community, or as Pastor Tom likes to say, “Village’s Extended Family.” As Village begins this new season of ministry, we are inviting those who watch us online, our extended family, to come to Kansas City for a weekend experience just for you. I am eager to meet you and hear more about how Village Church has become a part of your story. Maybe you found us during the pandemic, maybe you used to sit in the pews and have since moved away, or maybe you live locally but are not able to worship in person each week. However, you have come to be a part of this faith family, we are humbled by your continued presence with us online, and we are eager for the opportunity to meet you and for you to meet one another. Pastor Tom reminds us often that the Christian walk isn’t something we can do by ourselves.
I understand that visiting in person is not an option equally accessible to all our extended family and that there are certainly barriers of distance, expense, life situation and mobility at work here. There are many, many ways we might be community for and with one another, and I can’t wait to pursue those new endeavors together, but in the meantime, if you are able to come, we hope this might serve as something between a mini retreat and a mini vacation for you; a chance to see Kansas City, see Village Church and experience a bit more of the life and ministry of this special place.
Whether you are able to make it this weekend or not, you are a part of Village’s Extended Family, and I would love to connect with you. Send me an email!
In peace,
Alice Whitson
