Be the Church Service Opportunity Instructions
Even though we are unable to gather within our church in person, we can gather in spirit to be good neighbors locally and abroad. During the week of Oct. 18-25, Village Church is offering a selection of service opportunities that you can complete at home and drop off in the tubs outside Village on Mission’s (VOM) south entrance or Village on Antioch’s (VOA) main entrance during the week of October 18. Please deliver your service gifts by 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25, at the latest.

New and Gently Used School Supplies for Frontera de Cristo Border Ministry
Our partners at Frontera de Cristo need new or gently used school and art supplies (pre-K – 6th grade) for their Child Enrichment Program, which supports the education of children living in the Migrant Resource Center as well as two elementary schools in Agua Prieta, Mexico.
Gather any of the following supplies and place them in a bag and drop off to the school supply tub located at VOM or VOA:

Cloth and/or Paper Face Masks for Our Dominican Republic Medical Partnership
Light A Candle Foundation, our partners in the DR, need to replenish their supply of masks that they have been distributing on a wide-spread basis (over 3,000 to date) to people living in the bateys (impoverished communities of Haitian sugarcane laborers and their families). Masks should be new/unworn in paper or 2-layer cloth material. Please place donated masks inside of clean Ziplock bags and drop into the face mask tub at VOM or VOA.
Sponsor a Village Food Pantry Family’s Thanksgiving Meal this Year
We are looking forward to our annual Thanksgiving Basket distribution. Turkeys and all the trimmings will be distributed Nov. 4-20. We will not have a food drive this year due to COVID-19. But starting this month, you can be a part of this meaningful event by sponsoring a family for $30.
Thanksgiving Cards for Village Church Food Pantry Clients
Using the template you can download by clicking the button below, decorate Thanksgiving cards for our Village Church Food Pantry clients which will be distributed in November. Drop off your creations in the Thanksgiving card tub at VOM or VOA.
Socks and Snacks for the Homeless
Purchase adult socks and stuff them with nonperishable healthy snacks such as dried fruit, trail mix and granola bars without nuts and beef jerky, and drop them off in the socks and snacks tub at VOM or VOA. Your donation will be distributed to those living on the streets via the nonprofit UpLift.
Shoes to Prevent Jiggers in Uganda
Using the pattern template and instructions you can download by clicking the button below, and old blue jeans you no longer need, cut out patterns that will be made into shoes by Sole Hope for Ugandans. Place the material you cut out for each pair of shoes in its own plastic bag and drop it off to the shoes for Ugandans tub at VOM or VOA.

Shop from the VOA shopping list located at the bottom of https://villageantioch.org and drop off your food in the pop-up pantry tub at VOM or VOA.
