Adult Music Ensembles

 

Village ChoirVillage Choir Members Singing

Village Choir sings for 8:00, 9:30, and 11:00 a.m. Sunday worship services (choir members choose which service they sing). Rehearsals are Thursdays, September through May, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The choir is open to all without audition. In addition to Sunday services, the choir presents several concerts each season and a highly anticipated annual Christmas Concert, Tidings of Joy.



Chamber Choir

Chamber Choir is an option for Village Choir members who want to sing more challenging music. The choir rehearses Thursday evenings (following the Village Choir rehearsal) from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. Major works performed in recent seasons include the St. John and St. Matthew Passions of J. S. Bach, Mendelssohn’s St. Paul, Alice Parker’s Sermon From the Mountain, and requiems of Maurice Duruflé, Gabriel Fauré, and John Rutter.



Once-A-Month Choir

Once-A-Month Choir Rehearses Wednesdays September through May, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in room 15. The choir sings for 9:30 a.m. worship one Sunday each month.



Village Brass

Village Brass Rehearses Wednesdays September through May, 7 to 8:15 p.m. in the Sanctuary, and performs in worship monthly. Contact Matthew Shepard for more information.



Village Ringers

Village Ringers Advanced five-octave handbell choir, rehearses Wednesdays September through May, 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. in the choir room (room 11). Performs at the 9:30 worship service one time each month.



Morning Bells

Morning Bells Intermediate level handbell choir, rehearses Wednesdays September through May, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the choir room (room 11). Performs at the 8 a.m. worship service one time each month.



Bel Canto

Bell Canto Advanced handbell quintet.



Kansas City Wind Symphony

Kansas City Wind Symphony A volunteer ensemble of professional and accomplished amateur musicians selected by competitive audition. Musicians come from throughout the Kansas City region to perform in the organization dedicated to the study and performance of classic band works and transcriptions of orchestral masterworks in a concert setting.
