The Dominican Republic - A Partnership in Mission

Village Church maintains a vital mission partnership with the Good Samaritan Hospital in the city of La Romana in the Dominican Republic. We support a network of rural health promoters who oversee the medical needs of their “bateyes” or villages. These communities are made up of sugar cane workers and their families who have limited access to even the most basic health services. We also send five groups to La Romana annually to administer basic healthcare through mobile medical clinics, health education activities in the villages and even surgeries at the Good Samaritan Hospital. These trips require volunteers of all sorts - doctors and nurses but also medically untrained volunteers.
