We often forget that some of our close neighbors are lacking life’s basic needs – food and clothing. The Food Pantry and Clothes Closet have enabled us to serve those throughout the Kansas City area by:
The Robert and Shirley Meneilly Center for Mission at 99th and Mission Road provides a wonderful environment to help fulfill our neighbors’ basic needs with more food storage, a pristine setting and expanded food selection.

Client Qualifications and Services
Who May Apply: Persons with a Social Security card and an income below 150% of Federal Poverty Guidelines.
How to Apply: Call the Pantry at 913-671-2315 between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Friday mornings to apply for assistance.
All other phone calls are answered from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday. Persons are eligible to receive assistance every 30 days, if needed.

Saturday morning — 9:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m.
STAFF VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
More than 300 volunteers staff the Food Pantry and Clothes Closet each month. Volunteers generally work one morning or afternoon shift per week.
Monday - Friday — 9 a.m.-noon or noon-3 p.m.
Saturday morning — 9 a.m.-noon
Volunteers are retirees, working adults and students (ages 14+). Call 913-671-2314 to volunteer. Positions include:
Food or clothing
You may bring donations to the Pantry/Clothes Closet during regular hours of operation. Donations may also be placed in the boxes located at the south or west entrances to the church.
The Clothes Closet accepts clean, gently used, in-season men’s, women’s and children’s clothing. Small household items and linens are also accepted. Due to lack of space, furniture and televisions are not accepted.
Monday through Friday: 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
Saturday Morning: 10-11:30 a.m.
Monetary donations to help buy food are also welcome and may be brought to the Food Pantry. You can also mail checks, made payable to “Village Church Food Pantry,” to:

We need the following items:
The Food Pantry truck will be in the south parking lot of Village Church Nov. 1, 8 and 15 to collection your donations. If you prefer to donate money instead of food and let us do the shopping, a $30 donation will buy a Thanksgiving turkey and fill one basket with food. Your donation will help another family have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!
